GoGuardian
Matter Studio designed this office for GoGuardian, who create education software for students to use the internet to effectively learn. This space is an experiment in creating an adaptable and innovative place for employees to be curious and grow. Matter designed different types of ideation spaces to foster collaboration at different phases within the creative process. The employees wanted areas to have large white boarding sessions, pin-ups, as well as intimate conversations and alone time. Building for the introvert and extrovert was a key ethos for this office, so we could design a space for all needs, moods, and personalities. Inspiring these mission-driven employees with a green plant filled office environment that grows along side them was also a key narrative. There are over 5,000 plants and trees in the open floor plan, which create separation and reduce noise in the space. The plants were selected according to the NASA Clean Air Study, and contribute to the well being of the employees. Matter designed several custom prefabricated modular collaboration spaces that allow employees to reconfigure their office for meditation, seminars, sleep, yoga, or large conferences. Much of the graphics designed for the office only reveal themselves through shadow at certain times of the day or can only be read at the right perspective. This offices slowly reveals its details over time.
